August Sessions

As some of you know I have been in Fairmont, WV for a few weeks doing photography sessions.  Now that I'm back home I'd love to share some of what I have been working on with all of you.

School is started and everyone knows that means school photos are around the corner. Some people with special needs have a hard time in the 1 shot and done set ups school photographers offer. Trevelyn is a wonderful 9th grader with autism who, like other special need children, photograph beautifully when given time and are worked with.

Next we have a loving family of three. Mom and dad brought baby R to her 3 month session and decided to get a few family portraits done as well. Don't they look great together?

From there we move onto Ms Mandy and her beautiful maternity session. We had great fun capturing several looks for her. I think motherhood suits her very well.

Seniors Sessions are always great at the beginning or end of your high school experience. Miss Lindsey rocked her camo for one of her outfits to show that girls like to play outside too.

From there we captured Miss J's first birthday! She was all giggles and smiles, and enjoyed a few cheerios too. Her mother brought several beautiful dresses and she posed like a pro.

Melinda and Miss H had a blast posing together after Miss H finished crying about picture day. You would never know she was unhappy by the images from the day. She loves her mommy very much.

Finally, we captured a family of 7... Mom, Dad, 3 beautiful children and of coarse goose and princess, the family dogs. I captured the family several years ago and it is wonderful to see them growing and to see the love they all have for one another.

Phew, we've been busy in Fairmont. I want to also remind everyone to follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/AshleyBoudreauPhotography )  or our newsletters to keep track of fun fall events and Christmas planed.

Miss R- 10 days new

Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing this little one.

Miss R and her lovely mother spent the afternoon with me capturing Miss R's 10 days new photos in Monongah,WV. She was asleep from the start to end of the session. With such a sleepy and sweet baby we ended up with lots of images for her family to love.

And mama rocked her part of the session. Below you can see just how lucky Miss R is.

Enjoy those little ones while they are little.

Tall grass fun

Ever have a day in the tall grass chasing after your children? This session was kinda like that. W was a ball of energy and loved to pose himself for much of the session. The tall grass in Fairmont, WV location was a perfect backdrop for his session.

With minimal props we sat out into the field. W was part of our past mini session so our time together was short. He was a pleasure to be with and came out of the field with many great images, I've posted one below for you to be the judge.

Next week our newsletter will be going out so be sure to email boudreauphoto@hotmail.com to be added to our mailing list.

H honours Great Grandpa

I did several sessions in the Fairmont area this past weekend. However this little girl and her mama stuck out. Her mother asked if I was OK photographing her daughter in her underwear. she explained that this cowboy hat was her deceased grandfather's and that little H loves to walk around the house in just shoes and her undies. We came up with this as a tribute to H's personality and her great grandpa, with her arm raised and looking up as to be talking to him in Heaven. We have lots of other images from that day but this one really stand out for me. I love incorporating meaning into a session that will last.

Do you have a special image that has a meaning behind it? I'd love everyone to share theirs. Here is miss H's

Rainy Day Family Session

Let me be the first to say the Bonnell family rocked it! Mom, dad and 4 month old C showed up to their session and it began to sprinkle. When it started to actually rain we moved under the trees, and when it was poring they were posed in the gazebo. You read that right ladies and gentlemen... their whole session was rained on, literally. However because of work schedules this was picture day and we made it work and may I say they were awesome. Baby C was a smiley little one and by the images you would never know it rained on picture day for this family. They were happy and loving and it shines in the photos. A huge shout out to mom and day for having fun in the rain.

I loved their outlook on the day and LOVE their images more. I love sharing with you their images. We we're on location at Hinkle- Deegan Lake Park in Clarksburg, WV.

Recent Sessions

I love to share the images from several recent sessions with all of you.

They say the bigger the better, and while it's not always true, with family it is. I was with this family group of 30+ for an afternoon. I was in Salem and the family came in groups throughout the day. It was a great pleasure to meet everyone. I had a blast and even got to cuddle 3 babies under 3 months old. Below is a few images from the day.

Spring brings all sorts of new joys. I had fun with this little girl in the Fairmont area. Can you spot her spunk?

Mothers Day

Mother's Day is almost here again. What a wonderful holiday created here in WV to treasure and remember our mothers. And while it bring fond memories of my own mother to mind, the simple truth is that every year for 6 years now it also makes me sad.

My wonderful mother is alive. I can call her about a quick fix or complain my recipe did not come out correct. BUT...but for many people that is simply the case. Ever since I began photography I have heard people say, "I wish I had more pictures of my mother." or " I wish we would have had a family photo done before she passed." In these instances I feel overwhelming sadness that as a whole we mothers do not get in photos as much as we could or simply should.

So what can I personally do about it as a photographer you may ask? I always ask when shooting a child session if mom or dad want in one. What can you do about it? Say YES. Or even get in snap shots when things are happening around the house. As a mother myself now I try to be in images for my daughter.

I know what your thinking, I've made those excuses too. "I'll do it later...I not even dressed nice...and the 100's of other excuses we as mothers make everyday when a camera pops up. But next time your cousin is taking pictures of the kids and says to smile, hold your head high and lean forward with a grin knowing you are preserving memories for your child for long after your gone. Want to be even more generous for your child's memories down the road, have a photo done just of you or you and your spouse.

To end my rambling today, I encourage you to be in the moment with your children and families, but also be in the photos.

A quick pict. after a session I was shooting of my daughter.

My husband snapped this last Easter.

Spring is in full bloom here in West Virginia. I love the flowers, trees and all the critters that are so active this time of year. As some of you know I live in the Saint Albans area but have family and travel to the Fairmont area quiet often. I thought this trip would be fun to offer some cute spring outdoors sessions. I will be at Valley Falls on the 20th, and Morris Park on the 22nd which are both pretty parks in the Fairmont area, on the 21st I will be in the Clarksburg area at Hinkle-Deegan Lake Park which is one of the prettiest parks in the Clarksburg area. Lots of fun will be had and beautiful images captured. If your in the area and think getting some fresh images of your family, or children feel free to contact me.

Outdoor locations

I love looking for new locations for sessions. My daughter and I went to a park in Saint Albans, WV for a fun walk. As always I had my camera along. I found several areas in the park that will be beautiful for several different kind of sessions.

Here is a lovely foot bridge,

an old stage.

I also found several old barns and buildings

Wouldn't you agree that these are beautiful locations.  If your in the area you should check out this city park. And feel free to let me know if you need a session at any of these locations. I hope you all are enjoying the wonderful weather!

Layflat Photo Book Review

I love, love, love our new lay flat photo books! I wanted to give a review for these as well as give you all a real look at what they can do for you. We are offering these from sizes 6x6 to 11x14, so there is a size for everyone.

First, these lay flat books offer panorama across 2 pages. these books are designed to not have gutters to distract from images taking 2 pages to display. They have beautiful colors on quality photo paper that will last for years to come. These have wonderful thick pages. Each one have substance and not just a normal book page. They are rigid, and beautiful. The covers have many designs to choose from. The hard cover can have images on front and a title on spine. There are also linen covers, leatherette and bling cover options to elevate your book.

Now that we have raved on the actual book, let's talk about you! Lets say your a senior in high school and your having portraits done soon. Why do photo books or albums appeal to you? Simple Once all the wallets are gone in invitations and your mom keeps her wall portrait at home, what do you have to remember your senior photos? An album has your favorite images all together in a way that is easy to share and store for years to come.

Not a senior and think books/albums are not for you? Don't be too sure. Newborn, children and Families grow. With each day, month and year everyone is growing, and families add or lose members. Books and albums are a fantastic way to keep images for you. they can sit on a table for months to display and when the need stored can be safely tucked on a shelf. Have company over and want to boast about your children? No problem,"I have the images right here." They don't take wall space for smaller homes and you don't have to worry about the dreaded cover up when you run out of wall space. These can be a wonderful way to track time. A gift to the family for years to come.

Is an album for everyone? No, the same way everyone does not need a 30x40 canvas. BUT... before you book your session with a photographer, consider what you NEED these images for, then what you WANT them for. Once you know what you need and want you will be more informed on what products will work for you and your family.

Spring is in!

I deleted all my old posts and wanted to give you all a more polished blog. I hope you enjoy the new blog and welcome to all my new readers. Ashley Boudreau Photography is getting a face lift and we know you will like the new changes to come!

Spring is in the air. While it still is windy and we're a few more weeks out from some fun outdoor sessions, I wanted to share some of the fun we've been having indoors with spring sessions. This is the beautiful Miss Jane.

She enjoyed running around in the studio and said she was putting on a fashion show for us.

Miss Jane even did some of her own posing. (Super cute right?)

We enjoyed having her in the studio and can't wait to post many more of our favorite clients for everyone to enjoy.

If you are in the Saint Albans WV or Fairmont WV areas contact us about scheduling your own diva's session.
